Recipes Featuring Faux Bread

Keto BLT with Cloud Bread

Let’s start off with a classic BLT, or rather the ketofied version of that signature combination.

Ingredients:

For the faux cloud bread:

½ teaspoon of baking powder

½ teaspoon of cream of tartar

4 ¼ ounces of cream cheese

3 eggs

½ tablespoon of ground psyllium husk powder

Salt to taste

For the filling of the sandwich

Number of bacon strips preferred

Amount of lettuce preferred

Mayonnaise

Number of tomatoes preferred

Start off by pre-heating your oven up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Follow that up by separating the eggs by the whites and yolks and whip the former up until you get those stiff peaks. You can also add the cream of tartar at this point.

Work with the yolks by folding the cream cheese into them. You can add the ground psyllium husk powder at this point. The next step is to combine the egg whites with the yolks. Be careful here not to undo all the work you did with the egg whites. Arrange separate mounds of the mixture on a baking tray and then bake them in the oven for 25 minutes or so.

Once all that’s done, you can just put the sandwich together by layering the bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise in between the pieces of cloud bread.

Keto Egg Muffins

Next up are faux muffins that are arguably more savory and more flavorful than the real thing.

Ingredients:

5 ounces of bacon

Butter

6 ounces of shredded cheese

A dozen eggs

2 chopped scallions

Pre-heat your oven up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to get that out of the way and then prepare the muffin tin by lining the individual molds up with some butter. Place the scallions and the bacon into the bottom of each individual mold. Beat the eggs together and stir in the cheese as well. Pour the egg mixture over the scallions and the bacon and then place the tin in the oven to cook for about 15 minutes.

Keto Sausage Egg and Cheese Sandwich

This next one is a recipe from Tasteaholics and it features an ingenious twist on the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich you probably had at some point when you were just looking for a quick breakfast.

Ingredients

For the muffin:

½ teaspoon of baking powder

1 tablespoon of coconut flour

1 egg

½ tablespoon of olive oil

Salt

1 tablespoon of unsweetened almond milk

For the sausage:

Black pepper

¼ teaspoon of sage

1 sausage

Salt

¼ teaspoon of thyme

Additional ingredients:

1 egg

1 slice of cheese

Pre-heat the oven up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and then proceed to add the egg and all the other muffin ingredients into a bowl. Mix those ingredients and make sure to take out the lumps before pouring the batter into a ramekin. Bake the mixture for 15 minutes. Break an egg and place it into a separate ramekin and then put that in the oven for 10 minutes.

Slice the sausage open and place its contents into a bowl together with the herbs and spices. Flatten that out into a patty and just fry it in a pan for 5 minutes on each side to give it some crispness. Cut your muffins in half and then let them toast until they get golden brown. Put your sandwich together and then enjoy!
